FIT 2014: Learning at your fingertips
The infusion of technology into the classroom has become not just a trend, but an educational movement for schools here and abroad. With each new school year, more educational institutions are venturing into One2One learning, an arrangement in which each student has regular access to a computing device. This set-up changes the classroom as we know it, and it also changes the role of teachers. This educational evolution invites teachers all over the world to rethink the way they teach, so that they can adapt to how students of today learn best. The challenge however, is that most teachers haven't been taught the way we hope to teach the students today. We hope that FIT will be a venue for exploration, experimentation and professional conversations among like-minded educators, and we hope that this gathering will allow for a strong collective movement towards new frontiers in teaching and learning. |
3 Days, 3 Strands.
The three day conference will follow three strands or foci to set the proper context for each of the day's activities.
THE CONNECTED EDUCATOR New and emerging technologies drive many of the social, economic, and cultural changes in the world today. Learn how educators around the world are responding to these changes. |
THE CONNECTED CLASSROOM Our students are immersed in media and technology rich environments outside of the classroom. Let’s make the classroom just as connected and engaging. |
THE CONNECTED SCHOOL As we harness technology to enrich the learning experience of our students, we are faced with the opportunity to enrich the workplace experience of our teachers and administrators as well. |
